What is the title of your primary source and who wrote or created the document? 2. What is the perspective (POV) of the person who wrote it? In other words, who are they and what do they believe? How does their life experience affect the message of the document? 3. Who is the intended audience? Explain why that matters to this document and how it affects the message. 4. Briefly summarize the main idea of the document. 5. What details or quotes lead you to your conclusion about the main idea? Cite the most powerful line of the document – and importantly, why did you find it significant? 6. What is the historical significance of the document? 7. How does it relate or connect to issues we deal with in today’s society?
