This is kind of a odd request but I am currently a second year student at university majoring in biology. I am having trouble coming up with genuine emails to write to faculty member about my interests in joining their research lab. I am a pre-med student interesteed in biotechnology and looking to get involved in research. So I am coming to this website for someone to help and write two different emails to two different professors. There is multiple steps that go into crafting these two emails. Step one: Identifying faculty members, email them to tell them about your interest in research, including why you are specifically interested in their research group. It needs to be clear that you are sending an individual email rather than mass emailing multiple faculty. Ask to meet with them to discuss their current research projects and if they have an opening for an undergraduate researcher beginning in the specific semester you wish to start. At this point it is important to emphasize both why you think that an undergraduate research project would be a valuable experience for you, and also why you would be a good choice to join their research group. Don’t forget that you need to think about how your work will benefit other scientists and our understanding of biological sciences in general, not just how you will benefit individually. Using the links, go through and find two specific professor, click on faculty members name, read their bio, then go to his publications, find a research article that interest you and then craft an email showing interest in his/her current projects and ask if there are any opening in their research group and bring up what skills you can contribute if any to the research team. Mention you are new to the university and looking to get involved in undergraduate research. **I am going to add a doc with the lab skills I have so do not worry** Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior link: https://biosciences.gatech.edu/research/ecology-evolution-and-behavior Integrative Physiology link: https://biosciences.gatech.edu/research/integrative-physiology Molecular and Cell Biology link: https://biosciences.gatech.edu/research/molecular-and-cell-biology You will be writing two seperate emails to two seperate professors. I know this might not be the typical Order you see on this app, but I really need help because I need to get involved in research soon but I have not been able to write any decent emails so I need help. 1025908 2 hours ago https://research.gatech.edu/pamela-bhatti this is Professor Pamela Bhatti, and she does research over Cancer Biology. Click on her PubMed or Google Scholar and find her research articles, and then write an email showing interest in her work and how you’d like to contribute and join her research lab is she has any avaliability.
